The 2015 Coral Gables Holiday Spectacular will take place in front of City Hall, 405 Biltmore Way, on Friday, December 4 from 5-10 p.m. and features live performances, food, carnival rides and games, face painting, arts and crafts, bounce houses, and a merry good time for everyone. The event is presented by the City of Coral Gables as a holiday gift to the community.

Held the first Friday of the month, Gallery Nights showcase the various works from European and Latin American art masters to outstanding contemporary artists. Be on the lookout for the orange paintbrush on the side of the Trolley and on special Trolley stop signs to find a dedicated Gallery Night Trolley that will loop between Coral Gables galleries and art venues participating on Gallery Night.

Giralda Under the Stars

More than a dozen restaurants and bars on the renowned Restaurant Row on Giralda Avenue, located between Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Galiano Street, will bring culinary excellence and libations outdoors for diners to enjoy, literally, under the stars. Restaurant Row will be closed to vehicular traffic, and participating restaurants will fill the street with tables and chairs, live music and entertainment from 7 p.m. to midnight every first Friday of the month through April 2016.

Enjoy free admission and live music every first Friday of the month. Gallery Night Live! is held in conjunction with the Coral Gables Gallery Walk and Giralda Under the Stars.

Roz Chast has loved to draw cartoons since she was a child growing up in Brooklyn. She attended Rhode Island School of Design, majoring in Painting because it seemed more artistic. However, soon after graduating, she reverted to type and began drawing cartoons once again.Her cartoons have also been published in many other magazines besides The New Yorker, including Scientific American, the Harvard Business Review, Redbook, and Mother Jones. Her most recent book is a comprehensive compilation of her favorite cartoons called Theories of Everything: Selected, Collected, and Health-Inspected Cartoons of Roz Chast, 1978-2006. She also illustrated The Alphabet from A to Y, with Bonus Letter, Z, the best-selling children’s book by Steve Martin.
