Vacant storefronts have sprung to life from now until May 30 with pop-up art exhibits featuring local artists throughout Miracle Mile and Downtown Coral Gables, enhancing the pedestrian-friendly experience. The following exhibits are open for the public to enjoy.
CUBAN CLASSIC BALLET

Cuban Classical Ballet’s annual gala performance. On the program are the famed numbers Paquita and Fire Bird, as well as newly choreographed pieces. Making this performance that much more powerful, it will honor the ballet’s founder and artistic director, Pedro Pablo Peña, who passed away earlier this year.

Actors’ Playhouse proudly presents the return of the high voltage Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Million Dollar Quartet for our 30th Anniversary Season. One of the longest running shows in our company’s history, Million Dollar Quartet was inspired by the famous photo and phenomenal true story of the famed recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time in their careers. Million Dollar Quartet brings the heart and soul of that legendary night to life with an irresistible tale of excitement and passion featuring 21 timeless hits by these four legendary artists.

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) MDC Live Arts, Miami’s most eclectic performing arts series, closes its 2017-18 season with a gala event: Layali al-Andalus at 8 p.m., on Saturday, May 12, at the Olympia Theater featuring the National Arab Orchestra and special guests. A pre-concert reception will celebrate the season, offering complimentary Mediterranean hors d’oeuvres and refreshments for all concert goers.

Once you’re full of conversation and fine food, hop onto the tram or take a walking tour of the gardens through the Wings of the Tropics butterfly conservatory. MAINLY MOZART FEST, CONCERT 1
Miami Chamber Music Society presents the Mainly Mozart Fest, Concert 1 – Opening Performance at the Kislak Center at UM Richter Library starting at 4pm. Praised for their “intelligence” and “immensely satisfying” playing by the New York Times, the Amernet String Quartet has garnered recognition as one of today’s exceptional string quartets, they serve as Ensemble-in-Residence at Florida International University in Miami. The Quartet returns to Mainly Mozart with a program of works by Mozart, Schulhoff and are joined by the festival artistic director Marina Radiushina in a performance of the glorious Dvorak Piano Quintet.
