This production of exhilarating Spanish dance is comprised of two programs.
Danzar al aire español
After the huge success of Movimientos: La danza de la punta al tacón, the Antonio Gades Foundation returns to Teatro Real with a new production for all audiences, Danzar al aire español, a poetic and exciting journey through Spanish dance, evoking the style, fashion and essence of rich cultural tradition.
The dances with which Antonio Gades began his solo career in about 1963 were gradually shaped into the numbers that would become the Suite Flamenca five years later, eight pieces of traditional flamenco dance presented from Gades’ own angle. This suite was performed by his company, including, among others, Cristina Hoyos, his dance partner for more than twenty years, who in turn had replaced Curra Jiménez, Antonio’s partner in the early years.

AMPARO is an experiential theatrical journey in Downtown Miami that takes you by the hand straight into the heart of one family’s fight for love, country, legacy and the truth behind the real Havana Club rum. Dance on the white sands of Varadero, survive the revolution, lose everything, tell your story and find your way home.
Throughout your Amparo experience, you will enjoy curated cocktails from the moment you walk in. The recipe of the real Havana Club was carried out of Cuba by Ramon Arechabala. He kept it close to his chest for years, struggling to bring his family’s story to light. With each sip of your cocktail, you will distill Ramon’s story and honor the family’s legacy. ¡Salud!
